Rippin’ Rope Lacrosse Club coaches are committed to each player and to the game of lacrosse. As current head coaches and current/former NCAA lacrosse players, RRLC coaches have the experience and knowledge to ensure a player will grow as a player and as a person. Through years of relationship building in the lacrosse world, RRLC coaches strive to help players garner the exposure he/she needs to one day become a marketable college-ready lacrosse player. Because the game of lacrosse has treated RRLC coaches so well over the years, our coaches now have the opportunity to infuse their knowledge and passion upon eager lacrosse athletes.

RRLC Boys Director - Pete Duncan Founder of Rippin’ Rope Lacrosse, LLC in 2003. Head lacrosse coach of Tatnall School since 2004. Guided teams to Delaware Independent School Conference championships from 2004-2007 and the Delaware State championship game in 2006. Served as an assistant coach at Tower Hill School (2002, 2003). Former midfielder and attack at University of Delaware that made the NCAA tournament 1999. Notched an unimpressive six career points at UD. Coached in Delaware Senior All-Star Game in 2008 and 2010. Grew up in tradition-rich Mountain Lakes, New Jersey where he was an All-American and member of two state championships in 1995 and 1996. Played football and basketball in high school. Strong believer in athletes playing multiple sports growing up but added focus to any one sport can be pivotal towards taking one's game to the next level. Double Goal Certified coach by Positive Coaching Alliance and Level 2 Certified coach by US Lacrosse. Member of Delaware Interscholastic Boys Lacrosse Coaches Association executive committee. Pete resides in Wilmington with his wife Kristin, his daughter Emelia, and sons, Drew and Quin.
(back row far left) RRLC Girls Director – Melissa Whitehead Melissa is the Varsity Girls Head Coach at Wilmington Charter School. Led the Force to first year record of 14-3 and a Blue Hen Conference co-championship in 2008, followed by a 15-2 record in 2009 and 11-5 season in 2010. Former Division I player at University of Delaware and a starter on defense in her freshman year. Earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from UD and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Education Administration from UD. Melissa teaches at Delaware College Preparatory Academy. Former coach of Long Island Yellowjackets Lacrosse Club compiling a 138-43 record. Coached players who have continued their careers at Northwestern, Duke, UNC, UMBC, and University of Florida. 2-time All-County player at Sachem High Sschool on Long Island, NY.
Bob Gilmore - (Boys Staff) Bob has been head coach at Polytech High School since 1989 and is one of the most well-respected coaches in Delaware. Bob was recently voted Coach of the Year in Delaware for 2010. A Long Island. New York native, Bob graduated from the University of Delaware. Bob has coached dozens of camps over the years including All World Lacrosse Camp and the first Rippin' Rope Lax Camp Kent County in 2008. Bob resides in Dover with his wife Susan and sons Chris and Tommy.
Bill Madison - (Boys Staff) Originally from upstate New York, Bill is a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School and SUNY Potsdam where he played lacrosse. His coaching career began with the Wilmington Wings and he also started Wilmington Chakrter’s lacrosse program. He guided Charter to their first state tournament appearance in 2000. Later, he coached at Alexis I DuPont, leading the Tigers to multiple tournament appearances, with numerous all state selections. He was selected the Delaware Coach of the Year in 2004. Bill also served as an assistant at Swarthmore College, leading the Garnet Tide to an ECAC Championship appearance in 2008. Bill is a teacher in Red Clay and is the current lacrosse coach at the Delaware Military Academy. Bill was recently voted Coach of the Year in Delaware for 2010.
He holds a BA in History/Education and a Master’s degree in Counseling.
He lives in Wilmington with his wife Sarah and his two children.
Bob Healy - (Boys Staff) Bob is currently the head coach at Salesianum School and has led the Sals to the last four state championship games ('07 & '09 champs). Prior to Salesianum he was head coach at Dover High School. Coach Healy was named Coach of the Year in 2007 and is one of the most passionate coaches around. Bob is a native of Long Island, New York and played football and lacrosse at Division III power Wesley College in Dover where he was a standout in both sports. He currently is also an assistant football coach repsonsible for coaching tight ends at Wesley. Bob is a physical education teacher at Dover High School. He and his wife Sheri reside in Dover with their daughters Olivia and McKenna.
Clayton Albright- (Boys Staff) Clayton is currently a sophomore midfielder at Bucknell University. He was a three-time all state player in Delaware, a US Lacrosse All-American, and was chosen to play in the 2007 US Lacrosse National Senior Showcase game.
Amy Hood (HS Girls Staff) Amy is in her first year as the JV Girls Lacrosse coach at Dover High School. She is formerly a 4 year starter at center for Division II Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP). During her career at IUP, she was a three time, 2nd team All-Conference selection. Amy also holds IUP’s record for Most Career Goals with 136. In addition to lacrosse, Amy played on IUP’s field hockey team as she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Administration and went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Education with a concentration in Health and Physical Education. She is currently in her first year as a Health and Physical Education teacher at Dover High School.
Jackie Trainer (15 Gold Girls Staff) Jackie is currently the top assistant coach at Division II Wilmington University; this after a standout playing career at Division I Monmouth University in New Jersey where she graduated with a BA in Political Science. Jackie is still an active player and this summer has been invited to travel with a team from the USA to compete in Australia at the Down Under Cup in Melbourne. Coach Trainer has worked numerous summer camps over the years and started her coaching career at St. James Elementary School in Red Bank, NJ.
Amber Harmon - U15 Girls Staff Amber just completed her junior season at Wilmington University where she was one of the leading scorers for the Wildcats from the midfield/attack position. Among her better games was a three-goal outing in the first round of the CACC tournament against Holy Family. Amber was a standout at Glasgow High School and resides in Bear, DE. She is a Sports Management major at WU.
Matt Daley - (U11 Boys Staff) Matt was a standout attackman at AI duPont where he was an all-state player on several solid Tiger teams. He went on to play at McDaniel College (DIII) where he was a consistent scorer for four years. During his senior year he had 19 goals to go along with 3 assists for a 10-6 Green Terror team. Matt resides in Wilmington and currently is a teacher in the Red Clay School District.

Ryan Morrell - Boys Staff Ryan graduated from Princeton University in 2010 with a degree in Finance and played 4 years of lacrosse for the Tigers. He expects to use a medical redhsirt year of eligibility in 2011 (from 2010) while pursuing his M.B.A at a school yet to be determined He is one of the most decorated players to ever suit up in Delaware. Ryan was a two-time high school All-America at Tatnall School and was the state player of the year as selected by the Wilmington News Journal in 2006.
